Where the elevated roads meet.

Shanghai’s purple neon lights snake along for miles, a constant stream of boundless energy that mirrors the citizens that patrol these streets below.

Fireworks engulf Shanghai during Chinese New Year – for anyone who hasn’t witnessed this it’s hard to explain their ubiquity.

On the last official night of CNY Jenna and I caught these fireworks in front of a restaurant just around the corner form our apartment. They were being launched in the middle of the street and exploding around 5 or 6 floors in the air. This display lasted 2o minutes and was surely a scene repeated on countless street corners around most major cities in China.

In stark contrast to our visit to Cambodian hell earlier in the day, our arrival in Kep was heavenly.

On our second day in Phnom Penh we bore witness to the extreme evil that permeated Cambodia from 1975 to 1979 by the Khmer Rouge. First at the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum. This museum is on the grounds of the prison camp where thousands of Cambodians were beaten and tortured….

We then visited the Killing Fields at Choeung Ek. It was devastating.

Skulls unearthed when the Killing Fields were discovered – we’re told that 17,000 people were killed here.
