This weekend we took a trip to Harbin, in northern China. Here are some observations from the weekend:
- The big draw there is the Harbin Ice & Snow festival. (I’ll post my pics all week)
- It’s really, really cold there. We had temperature lows of -30C or -22F
- Harbin is close to Russia and there’s a lot of Russian influence on the city (see church below)
- Worst taxi situation I’ve experienced in China…most try to rip you off
- Most roads have a centimeter of ice on them, yet somehow we didn’t see lots of accidents on the road
- We had some delicious and cheap Dongbei food everywhere we went
