Dailypics 3/30/09: Muara Karang (The Jakarta Fish Market)

On Sunday, my family met up at the vibrant Jakarta Seafood Market for a big lunch by the water.  Here was the  scene:

How it works…

First, these guys catch the fish.

You then visit these guys and choose your desired seafood (it works out to about 1$ per lb).

You then bring your catch to these guys, who cook it to order for about 50 cents.

The end result is a cheap, tasty feast featuring some of the freshest seafood you can find anywhere…
