Man On Wire

I caught Man On Wire tonight and loved it (so did critics). It’s gripping documentary that feels more like a fast paced heist flick. You’ll come to admire the main character, Philippe Petit, and his rag tag team of accomplices. Petit is definitely a bit crazy, but his dedication to chase his dream, an acute sense of self and innate charm make him instantly engaging and worth rooting for.

Within this gem, a few things really stood out to me. The director, James March, is a consummate storyteller, deftly intertwining a mix of old footage, well shot reenactments, vintage photographs and emotional interviews. Additionally, the music was pitch perfect and added of drama, pace and poignancy to the film.
