Feelin’ GOOD

by tom, on April 10, 2008 at 11:34 pm

I’m a big fan of GOOD Magazine.

First of all, all things ‘good’ seem hot right now…there’s kiva, planning for good, Big Give, etc. We’ve surpassed some sort of charitable tipping point recently – a phenomenon which deserves it’s own blog post!

But GOOD Magazine/site/blog really stands out for me ’cause it delivers a constant stream of genuinely interesting content. Here are a few gems:

  • Transparency – every month they dedicate 3-4 pages to visual storytelling.
  • Perspective – Tibet is a hot topic right now and GOOD offered one of the best articles I’ve read on the topic. Read this interview with Tibet’s Prime Minister, Samdhong Rinpoche, and find out why he says: “The Olympic Games are a playful occasion. To disturb them is not a good gesture.”
  • Videos – They frequently produce insightful videos which are always visually tight. Check out this one about the cost of advertising:

And this one about water:

Perhaps the best part of a GOOD subscription, is that 100% of your money goes to a charity of your choice.

Give it a chance, it’s worthy.
